Misfits has announced their 2022 LEC roster, featuring new regional talent alongside faces players will recognize from last split. Misfits has leaned into building new talent more so than organizations like Vitality, who has bought proven talent in order to build out a superteam.

Shin “Hirit” Tae-min takes Misfits’ top lane position, maintaining his spot from both the spring and summer splits of 2021. Lucjas “Shlatan” Ahmad has made his way up from Misfits Premier to Misfits’ LEC roster. The young jungler is known for mechanical play, and has an excellent track record in the LFL. Shlatan’s Misfits debut hopes to introduce yet another European jungler able to continue their legacy of impressive play.

Misfits refresh 2021 roster

Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié makes a return to the mid lane for Misfits. Vetheo proved himself to be a capable mid laner, though rarely hard carrying games. Misfits’ inconsistent 2021 made it hard for Vetheo to distinguish himself at times. Known for flashy champions like Akali and Zoe.

Schalke04’s ex-bot laner Matúš “Neon” Jakubčík is also making a return to the 2022 roster, next to Mertai “Mersa” Sari, another new LFL talent making his way to the LEC stage. Mersa has distinguished himself for aggressive engage-focused champions, and Misfits announced his promotion to the LEC with a sizzle real of his best hooks and engages.

Misfits 2022 roster could elevate them with rookie talents after inconsistent years, but puts them in danger of a volatile split. Talents like Mersa and Shlatan in vital roles like support and jungle could mean an aggressive look for the Misfits roster, should they come out of the gates swinging in the spring split.

Overall, Misfits follows the global trend of moving away from expensive, proven players, and instead opting for talent that they can build out into the new wave of professional players.
