South Korean top laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok has found his new home for the 2022 LPL season, signing with Weibo Gaming.

The 22-year-old star player is now the newest addition to Weibo Gaming after playing for Invictus Gaming for over four years. His time with iG ended after a shaky 2021 season where the popular top laner failed to deliver the results expected of him and the rest of the team.

Moving forward, TheShy will get to have a new start on Weibo Gaming but will continue to play in the LPL where he has played for the majority of his career. He will be replacing the young Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin who will act as the starting top laner for RNG in the new year.

Even though TheShy has had a rough year, it’s still expected that he can return to his old shape as one of the best players in the LPL. With a new team environment and hopefully renewed energy, only time and effort will tell if TheShy can return to his old shape that everyone experienced in 2018 especially, where he and iG won the 2018 World Championship.

Who is on Weibo Gaming roster for 2022?

TheShy will be playing alongside other talented players on Weibo Gaming, with the likes of Lê “SofM” Duy in the jungle and Tang “huanfeng” Huan-Feng as the carry in the bot lane. Xiang “Angel” Tao will act as the mid laner while the young Luo “ON” Wen-Jun will be the support.

Many fans will know these players as the old Suning core, which are all players that Weibo Gaming will be keeping after buying Suning’s LPL spot and renaming the team.

Weibo Gaming is the second new team in the LPL for the 2022 season, after Ninjas in Pyjamas also bought a spot in the biggest LoL league earlier this year. The new names will give a breath of fresh air to the league going into 2022, where 17 teams will once again be competing for glory.

TheShy and the rest of Weibo Gaming will be back on Summoner’s Rift when the 2022 LPL Spring Split kicks off in January.
