These are the five best-earning teams in all of esports

Esports prize pools have grown over the years to the point that organizations have taken in tens of millions over the course of their histories. According to data from Esports Earnings, Team Liquid, OG, Evil Geniuses, Fnatic, and Newbee are the top five teams with the highest overall earnings.

These are all accomplished organizations, though many of them are primarily bolstered by their Dota 2 teams.

Team Liquid and OG top money chart with over $30,000,000 earned

Team Liquid has the highest overall earnings of any organization, coming in at almost $34 million. Their Dota 2 team is mostly responsible for that sum, earning over $20 million. This largely comes from winning The International 2017 and strong performances at both The International 2018 and 2019.

After Dota 2, the highest contributor to Liquid’s earnings is their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, which has earned a bit over $4 million. The majority of that has come in this year, thanks to winning the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 award and four of the tournaments attached to it.

The remaining money was brought in from a slew of other titles, with Liquid taking in significant sums through PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, League of Legends, and StarCraft.

Right after TL is OG with almost $33.5 million, with 99.98% of that sum coming from Dota 2. OG took in over $25 million from its two The International championships. That said, the organization was already quite well off even before that thanks to their wins at four Valve-sponsored majors.

EG’s Dota 2 team makes big money

Out of the $23 million earned by Evil Geniuses throughout its history, $19.5 million came from Dota 2. A large slice of that comes from EG’s win at The International 2015, but the organization has performed well at almost every installment of the event dating back to TI4.

In contrast to the top three teams, Fnatic’s earnings come from a few different channels. Fnatic has made $14 million over the years, which has seen its Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike teams all contributing.

Last on the top-five list is Newbee, as the Chinese esports organization has earned a bit under $14 million so far. As expected, $12.66 million comes from its Dota 2 team, with the remainder coming from League of Legends and StarCraft 2.
