Limiting your practice regime to improving your aim is one of the reasons many players are hard stuck in low ranks. High-ELO games require map knowledge and utility usage, not just a big kill score. Luckily there are ways to improve these other important gameplay elements.

An open practice playground can help players become an asset to their team, ultimately winning rounds on strategy and not just pure luck and aim. Players may need to feed in a few commands to effectively turn a custom bot game into your practice playground. Initial server commands

• sv_cheats 1: Enables cheat commands on the server.
• mp_restartgame 1: Restarts the game after 1 second. 

Round timer settings 

• mp_roundtime 60: Sets the round time to a maximum of 60 minutes.
• mp_roundtime_defuse 60: Sets the round time on bomb defuse maps to 60 minutes.
• mp_roundtime_hostage 60: Sets the round time on hostage rescue maps to 60 minutes.
• mp_freezetime 0: Sets the freeze time at the beginning of the round to 0 seconds.
• mp_maxrounds 9999: The maximum number of rounds to play before the server changes the map.

Team balance and bot commands 

• mp_limitteams 0: Removes the limit on teams.
• mp_autoteambalance 0: Disables the auto-balance mechanic.
• bot_kick: Kicks all bots from the game. You can later add the bots you want yourself.

Buy commands 

• mp_maxmoney 60000: Sets the maximum amount of money to 60000.

• sv_infinite_ammo 1: Gives you infinite ammo. 

Grenade and weapon commands 

• sv_grenade_trajectory 1: Shows a trajectory when you throw a grenade. Helpful in practicing grenades and throws.
• sv_grenade_trajectory_time 20: Set the time in which the grenade trajectory will be visible. 
• bind “KEY” “give weapon_hegrenade;give weapon_flashbang;give weapon_smokegrenade;give weapon_incgrenade;give weapon_molotov;give weapon_decoy: Gives you all grenades.
• sv_showimpacts 1: Shows the bullet impacts. Helpful in practicing spray and recoil patterns.
• sv_showimpacts_time 10: The time in which the bullet impacts are visible. 
• bind “KEY” “noclip”: Helpful in getting quickly around the map. 

Here are some other useful commands that may come in handy while practicing spray patterns and smokes. You may add these manually to your console when required. 

• bot_add_t: Adds a bot to the terrorist team.
• bot_add_ct: Adds a bot to the counter-terrorist team.
• bot_stop 1: Stops all the bot movement.
• give weapon_[name]: Equips you with desired weapon
• thirdperson: Go into third-person mode.
• firstperson: Go into first-person mode.

How to create a CSGO practice config in 2022

Creating a CSGO practice config in 2022 is pretty simple. Copy the commands mentioned above and make a new notepad document. You can also download the config file provided below and move it to the cfg folder. Make sure you replace “KEYS” with your preferred keybinds before moving on to the next step.

• Add a new name to the file, but make sure it has a .cfg extension. For example, practice.cfg. 
• Copy the “practice.cfg” file and paste it into the CFG folder located in:
• C:SteamsteamappscommonCounter-Strike Global Offensivecsgocfg
• Start CSGO and select “Play offline with bots” to start a local server.
• Once you enter the game, open the console and type: “exec practice.”
• The game will restart with your saved practice config.
