Surgery forces Faith_bian out of EHOME’s roster, replacement TBA
Surgery forces Faith_bian out of EHOME's roster, replacement TBA
EHOME has announced that off laner Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida has been benched from the team for medical reasons.
Faith_bian suffered an accident during a video shoot at MDL Macau 2019, fracturing a part of his forearm. During the event, he was replaced by current teammate Zhao “XinQ” Zixing. His arm was surgically repaired after, but requires follow-up procedures that will see him out of action once again.
EHOME released an official statement regarding the situation:
“Faith_bian, the third position player of EHOME DOTA2 team, followed the doctor’s advice and will perform nail removal surgery in accordance with the original rehabilitation plan in the near future….At the same time, we are actively looking for suitable offlane substitutes to ensure normal participation in recent competitions. Please rest assured!”
The tournament organizer, Mars Dota 2 League issued their own statement declaring that
“As the MDL organizer, we have an inescapable responsibility. We apologize to everyone here. We will arrange the best medical resources for Faith_bian to help the player recover soon.”
Faith_bian joined EHOME three years ago, after making a name for himself together with The International 2016-winning organization Wings Gaming. Wings Gaming’s incredible victory is still remembered fondly to this day as one of the best performances in Dota 2 history. Together with team captain and former Wings teammate Zhang “y`” Yiping, Faith_bian is the longest-tenured player on the current EHOME roster.
Although EHOME hasn’t reached the same heights as Wings, Faith_bian has cemented himself as one of China’s best off laners in recent years. His most noteworthy achievements with the squad include winning the Bucharest Minor 2019, a first-place finish at the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1, and second-place in the Dota PIT Minor 2019.
Despite EHOME seemingly picking up their form lately, it remains to be seen how they will adjust to the loss of their offlaner. It still remains to be seen who will replace Faith_bian in EHOME’s active roster.
