Street Fighter 6 enjoyed a strong presence at Evo 2022 despite not actually being released yet with the reveals of Kimberly and Juri.

The finals of Street Fighter V played out on the final day of Evo 2022, with Masaki “Kawano” Kawano defeating Derek “iDom” Ruffin to secure the $5,560 top prize and a spot in the 2022 Capcom Cup. The electrifying series saw iDom reset the bracket after qualifying for the finals through the lower bracket, only to come a round short as Kawano secured the 3-2 series victory. While competitive Street Fighter fans already had plenty to talk about, they got an extra helping of intrigue with the unveiling of Kimberly and Juri for Street Fighter 6.

Kimberly is a new ninja character with a high-flying moveset that is somewhat reminiscent of Vega from Street Fighter 2. She’s shown jumping around levels and unleashing aerial combos while spouting upbeat lines. Her ascending spin kicks and command dash also bring Guy from the Street Fighter Alpha and 4 to mind.

Juri is a familiar face to Street Fighter fans at this point. The character first arrived in Street Fighter 4 as a taekwondo fighter with a sadistic personality. Her skills were reminiscent of what fans have seen from her in the last two games, but the new engine results in some apparent differences.

Kimberly and Juri are the sixth and seventh characters to be revealed for Street Fighter 6, though fans likely know who is coming next.

Which characters will be in Street Fighter 6?

Street Fighter 6 will include 11 characters from Street Fighter 2, three characters introduced in Street Fighter V, Juri, and seven new characters.

The reveal of Kimberly further solidifies a leaked character sheet that came out in June. The sheet purportedly included every character in the base version of Street Fighter 6. The character sheet includes a mix of familiar and fresh faces. The bulk of the Street Fighter 2 cast will return, with the only characters missing out being Sagat, Bison, Balrog, Vega, and T. Hawk.

Joining them will be Street Fighter V’s Rashid, Ed, and Luke along with seven new characters including Kimberly and the previously revealed Jamie. Juri is the only confirmed character from the Street Fighter 4 series. Kimberly was unintentionally leaked by Capcom in a previously released trailer.

The leak was partly confirmed already with the reveal of a redesigned Guile a few days later. Though that added a great deal of credibility to the leaks, the reveals of Kimberly and Juri effectively confirm the leak to be accurate.

Unfortunately, there is still no word on an estimated release date for Street Fighter 6.
