Stormtrooper skin hints at more Star Wars in future of Fortnite
Stormtrooper skin hints at more Star Wars in future of Fortnite
A Stormtrooper skin has arrived in the Fortnite item shop.
Epic Games announced the Star Wars-themed skin, which is avilable only for a limited time, on Twitter. The official account declared that the “Imperial army has arrived,” and that an “Imperial Stormtrooper is scouting the Island.”
The
tweet
came with a comical video of some classic Fortnite characters coming face to face with the very serious Stormtroopers, who seemed quite confused by what they were seeing.
According to the official announcement, the Stormtrooper skin is free if gamers download Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order from the Epic Games Store.
It appears that the Imperial Stormtrooper skin is only the beginning of this collaboration. The item is described in the shop as “part of the original trilogy set,” which hints at more skins coming to the battle royale in the future. This most likely will coincide with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premiering next month.
For now, a Star Destroyer also hovers above the Island.
Fortnite pros excited about Fortnite x Star Wars
Jack “CouRage” Dunlop immediately replied to Epic’s announcement on Twitter, expressing his excitement for the skin.
“I love Star Wars!!!!!!” he
tweeted.
This caught the attention of fellow streamer Timthetatman, who seemed to question CouRage’s loyalty to the franchise.
The banter seemed to be all in good fun, with CouRage replying with an excited “Hi Tim!” Like in his previous tweet, this one also included an overabundance of exclamation points.
Still, many fans seemed disappointed with the dug up tweet. CouRage’s taste in science fiction franchises was immediately put up for debate. For now, the Star Wars content coming freshly to Fortnite may give George Lucas’ creation the edge over Transformers.
