Sojourn, Doomfist, and more heroes getting big changes in Overwatch 2 Season 2

Overwatch 2 fans are anxiously awaiting season 2, which will come with a new hero, new skins, and a new map. But another big change will be hero balances, which will see many popular heroes getting much-needed buffs and nerfs.

In a November 29 blog post, Overwatch developers explained some of the hero balances coming in December.

Overwatch 2 Season 2 hero balances

One hero getting balanced is Sojourn, the newest DPS that deals massive damage with her rail gun. She has been dominating at higher ranks, but players at lower skill levels are finding her difficult to master. Going into Season 2, developers are focusing on the “lethality” of her rail gun at a distance, “encouraging players to make use of Sojourn’s high mobility to close the distance for the more devastating right-clicks.”

It sounds like Sojourn may have damage fall-off going forward, forcing players to play a bit more aggressively instead of staying a safe distance and dominating on high ground.

Overwatch 2 Season 2

Doomfist is another hero that is getting some much-needed love. The DPS-turned-tank has been struggling to shine in the current meta, leading developers to give him “significant” buffs in Season 2. The changes will allow Doomfist to provide better support from the front line.

Other heroes that are likely to see changes are Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Mercy, and Symmetra. It’s currently unclear what these balance changes will be, but it seems like new heroes are starting to have more complex and innovative kits. Some original heroes need some changes to keep them relevant as the meta continues to change.

Who is Ramattra?

Ramattra is the next hero coming to Overwatch. He will be available in Season 2, which comes out on December 6. But unlike other new heroes, like Kiriko, Ramattra is a bit of a pain to unlock. Overwatch developers have shared Ramattra’s origin story. While he was created to lead omnics into war, Ramattra has been more focused on creating a better life for omnics through peace and harmony.
