March’s Community Day in Pokemon Go is all about Slowpoke. The regular form of the Pokemon will be featured alongside Galarian Slowpoke, which is debuting its shiny version.

In the Pokemon Universe, certain Pokemon have regional variants. One of these Pokemon is Slowpoke and its variant from the Galar region. Both versions are the stars of March’s Community Day in Pokemon Go.

On March 18, from 2 pm to 5 pm local time, the spawn rate for Slowpoke will increase. Every Slowpoke that is caught and evolved during the event will know Charged Attack Surf.

Galarian Slowpoke event bonuses

Some of the bonuses available during the event areas follows.

One of the biggest changes is the method to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro. On a regular day, players must catch 30 Poison-type Pokemon while having Galarian Slowpoke as a buddy. For the duration of the event, the requirement will change to 30 Psychic type Pokemon. This change is available until 10 pm local time.

Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke are both the four-star Raid Battle bosses for the day. Slowpoke is a dual Water and Psychic type. Pokemon Go has the perfect counter for it in dual Grass and Dark type Shiftry. The rest of the team can include Grass and Dark type, but Shiftry is definitely the star of the team.

Another addition is the Special Research Story, Field Notes: Slow and Slower. Players must buy access to Field Notes: Slow and Slower for $1. The tickets for the Special Research are available on the in-game Shop now. Players can purchase tickets and send them as gifts to friends if they reached the Great Friends tier.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Pokemon
All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...

Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Zachary Roberts To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were brought to the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2) library. This came a little over a week before Pokémon Pokopia dropped. The former is a decades-old game, and the latter is a brand-new title unlike anything in the franchise. Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...

Here’s the difference between mythical and legendary Pokémon Pokemon
Here’s the difference between mythical and legendary Pokémon Steven Rondina Fans of Pokémon are obsessed with rarity, and no other categories of Pokémon are rarer than Mythicals and Legendaries. But what’s the difference between a Mythical and a Legendary Pokémon, and how many are there?
