The 2020 League of Legends World Championship opening ceremony is going to be wild.

The big Worlds final is only a few days away and Riot is slowly starting to tease the matchup as well as the ceremony leading up to the game. This year’s opening ceremony will feature the virtual League of Legends pop group K/DA, assisted by the newest champion Seraphine. Furthermore, the ceremony will have names such as singer Lexie Liu and dance crew The Kinjaz for the choreography.

Despite the whole tournament being played in a closed studio so far, the final will be held live at the Pudong Soccer Stadium in Shanghai as planned. Not only will the final be played at a big stadium, but there will also be a limited crowd for the first time in many months.

Riot has been allowed to let a total of 6312 people in to watch the game in person. The tickets have been given out for free through a lottery. Millions of people signed up for the chance to experience the biggest esports final of the year live.

With a crowd to support the opening ceremony performers, and later on the players, it will be as close to a normal Worlds final as it can get. A crowd of 6,000 people is nowhere near enough to fill up the stadium, but will still be able to create the esports atmosphere that every fan has been craving for the past months.

Shortly after the opening ceremony trailer was released, Riot published one of the first hype teasers for the match between DAMWON Gaming and Suning. The teaser takes fans down the memory lane of 10 World Championships, starting from the very first one in 2011, in Jönköping Sweden.

This year’s Worlds final will not only be special because of the incredible storylines leading up to it but also because it is the 10-year anniversary of the League of Legends World Championship.

The 10th champion will be crowned on October 31 when the final kicks off.
