Pokémon Go has over 700 Pokémon on the Pokedex, but not all of them are easy to catch. Some Pokémon are only available for a day, others can only be found during a Raid Battle. Here are the rarest Pokémon in Pokémon Go in 2023.

There are different ways to encounter a Pokémon in Pokémon Go — in the wild, hatching an egg, on a Raid Battle, and a Field Research. Pokémon that can be found in the wild frequently are considered common.

A rare Pokémon is one that can only be found under very specific circumstances. For example, during a special event or a Raid Battle. There are versions of Pokémon that were available once and will never come back to the game.

One of the rarest Pokémon in Pokémon Go 2023 is the different Pikachu versions. Some of the Pikachu variants are Fragment Hat Pikachu, Detective Pikachu, and 5-year Anniversary Pikachu. These were only available during a specific period of time and will not return to the game.

Spiritomb is another rare Pokémon. It was available only during the Halloween event, and it is not possible to encounter it again.

How to encounter Vivillon rare patterns

Vivillon is a dual Bug and Flying type Pokémon from the Kalos region. It is one of the rarest Pokémon in the game and one with the most versions. There are 20 different possible Vivillon patterns.

To get Vivillon, players must pin postcards from different regions. Doing this will unlock the Vivillon from said region. Players will need friends from all over the world to complete the collection.

When a friend sends you a present, pin the postcard. After that, the game will show you that Vivillon has been unlocked for you and will start appearing in the wild. Once you have enough postcards in your collection, you will get the opportunity to encounter Scatterbug, another rare Pokémon.
