Froakie is the featured Pokemon for the August Community Day in Pokemon Go. The event will take place on August 13 between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time.

You might recognize Froakie as the Water type starter from the Kalos region. It has two evolutions, Frogadier and Greninja.

Froakie made its Pokemon Go debut back in 2020 during the Kalos Celebration Event in December of that year. The shiny version of Froakie and subsequently its evolutions will become available during the Community Day on August 13.

Any Froakie that is evolved to its final evolution, Greninja, will have the special Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. Players will have up to five hours after the end of the event to evolve their Froakie.

Hydro Cannon is a Charge Attack with more power than the average attack. As a dual Water and Dark type, Greninja is especially strong against Ghost, Psychic, and Fire Pokemon. It is a good Pokemon to have on your team.

August Community Day Bonuses and Raids

During the August Community Day, Frogadier will be featured as a Four-Star Raid boss. Any time a player defeats a Frogadier in a Gym, Froakie will increase its spawn rate in the surrounding areas.

The event will also have an event-themed special research story that is only available by buying a ticket. Free Community Day-themed field research will become available through the event.

As for the special bonuses, the August Community Day will include the regular bonuses:
