Pokemon Go Spotlight Hours for August 2023
August brings a major content update in Pokemon Go. This month’s spotlight hours include some classic first-generation Pokemon you will want to catch.
Every month Pokemon Go features a different set of Pokemon in its different monthly events. These monthly occurrences are raids, spotlight hours, and in August, the Pokemon Go Fest 2023: Global.
Pokemon Go Spotlight Hours
Every Tuesday is a spotlight hour day. Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time, one Pokemon will drastically increase its spawn rate. These Pokemon come with special bonuses, just to make the hour even more interesting.
August 1 – Vulpix
Vulpix is a Fire-type from the Kanto region, part of the first generation of Pokemon. This adorable fox Pokemon evolves into Ninetales. In Pokemon Go, both Kanto and the Alola versions are available.
During Vulpix’s spotlight hour, players will earn twice XP for evolving Pokemon.
August 8 – Paras
Paras is a dual Bug and Grass type from Kanto. This insectoid Pokemon evolves into Parasect.
During Paras’ spotlight hour, players will receive twice the Stardust for catching Pokemon.
August 15 – Stufful
Stufful is a dual Normal and Fighting-type from the Alola region. This adorable Pokemon requires 400 candies to evolve into a Bewear.
During Stufful’s spotlight hour, players will earn twice XP for evolving Pokemon.
August 22 – Venonat
Venonat is a dual Bug and Poison type from the Kanto region, another classic from the first generation. Feed it 50 candies, and it will evolve into Venomoth.
During Venonat’s spotlight hour, players will receive twice as many candies for catching a Pokemon.
August 29 – Tentacool
August ends with yet another Pokemon from the original 150, Tentacool. While available in the while, this Pokemon is not easy to encounter in areas without large bodies of water.
During Tentacool’s spotlight hour, players will receive twice as many candies for catching a Pokemon.
