After being teased in the Season Six trailer, Apex Legends has revealed the abilities of Rampart, the game’s newest legend.

Per usual, Apex Legends developers allowed the suspense to build before finally showing off the legend. Rampart was first teased back on August 4 in a tweet from the game’s official account. The tweet included a voice message Bangalore left for Rampart, calling her “P.” The soldier asks Rampart if her “commission” is done.

There was a second tweet the following day that included another voice message left for Rampart. This one thanked Rampart for a modded pistol before asking for a second one with a discounted price.

On August 7, another voice message was revealed to fans. This time it was from a man who called Rampart “Rami.” He also asked about a “baby,” most likely referring to a gun.

Three days later, Apex Legends shared another tweet that contained a voice message left for Rampart from a man called Grimes. Grimes offers Rampart a lot of money for her turret, which she calls Sheila. He became interested after watching her use it in the Gauntlet.

By this point, Apex Legends players were dying to know more about this gun-obsessed agent. Data miners had already discovered that Rampart wasn’t a gruff man as many had first expected. But a lot was still being left to their imagination.

Who is Rampart, Apex Legends’ newest legend?

Ramya Parekh, aka Rampart, is a private business owner who specializes in modding weapons and gear. With just a big gun and a backpack full of scrap metal, Rampart went around the Outlands making a name for herself in the underground gauntlet scene. She started taking jobs from smugglers and Syndicate members, and it soon became clear that “it ain’t great unless it’s got ‘Rampart’ written on it.”

It’s possible that Rampart’s smug attitude made her some enemies. One day her shop was ambushed and completely burned to the ground. The scrappy inventor was left with nothing except an Apex Card. Rampart decided it was time to prove what she can do to an even bigger audience, even without a shop. She’s always been the kind of person who “turns crap into gold.”

What are Rampart’s abilities in Apex Legends?

The 21-year-old is a defense legend who can help her team hold their ground in any situation.

Rampart’s passive ability is called Modded Loader. She is given an increased magazine size and heat capacity as well as faster reloads and recharges when using LMGs and the minigun.

Rampart’s tactical ability is Amped Cover. She builds a full-cover amped wall that blocks all incoming shots while simultaneously amping outgoing shots “for devastating damage.” Up to three walls can be deployed at a the same time.

The wall’s base and upper barrier have separate health. The base can be destroyed in one hit while it’s being deployed, so it’s important to be aware of surroundings before using Amped Cover. It’s currently unclear how long the cooldown is for this ability.

Rampart’s ultimate ability is called Sheila. That’s the name of a mounted machine gun she can place down for anyone on her team to use. It has a high ammo capacity and a long reload time, although it’s currently unclear how long its duration is.
