Influencer Imane “Pokimane” Anys has surprisingly opened up about a recent breakup after vowing to never speak about her relationships with fans.
Pokimane is the most-subscribed female content creator on Twitch. She started as a game streamer but after some breaks decided that she wants to become more of a general content creator instead of grinding streams all day. This has led to her making YouTube vlogs, recording podcasts, and making TikToks and Instagram posts.
On July 8, she shocked fans by deciding to share some information about her latest relationship in a YouTube vlog.
In a recent vlog, Pokimane shared some updates in her life, including a new apartment and some relationship drama.
pov: you’re pokimane (new apartment, breakup, life update)
In the vlog, Pokimane admitted that the relationship she was in had been quite serious. The breakup felt different from past dating fails since she was planning a life with this person, even marriage and children. It’s clear she was very serious about this person. This is why she felt it would be “interesting to discuss” with fans for once.
“Frankly, this breakup feels different than past ones,” Pokimane said. “When you’re in your mid-to-late-twenties, and when you start envisioning a life with someone — speaking about marriage and kids — and really being in that headspace and planning for your future…. And then all of that kind of dissolves, it’s a lot to process.”
Pokimane never mentioned who the person is that she ended up breaking up with. A lot of fans are suspecting it’s Kevin Kim, however, since he’s been featured in a lot of her social media and vlogs. Fans became extra suspicious when she called him a “random handsome man” at the 2023 Streamer Awards.
For now, Pokimane hasn’t confirmed if she was dating Kevin or another man (or woman). Whoever it was, though, it seems they were together quite a long time and the relationship was serious.
Pokimane told fans that she may talk more about the relationship in future vlogs.
