The Pokémon community is outraged after The Pokémon Company revoked the launch date for the long-awaited Pokémon HOME.
In the early morning of May 19, the Pokémon Twitter announced that Pokémon HOME version 3.00, which will connect to Scarlet and Violet, was coming later this month. They even gave an exact date — May 25, 2023. Upon hearing this, trainers around the world rejoiced over the sudden announcement of the long-awaited update.
But that joy was short-lived.
Just hours after announcing that Pokémon HOME was coming later this month, the same official Pokémon Twitter account said that the earlier tweet was a mistake.
“The actual release date is yet to be announced,” they wrote. “3.0.0 is coming soon though, so please continue to follow our pages for more information!”
Despite claiming that Pokémon HOME is still on its way, the Pokémon community reacted with frustration and anger. Multiple trainers called it an “embarrassment.” Others accused Pokémon of never releasing HOME at all, predicting that the update would never happen.
“Embarrassing. I AM EMBARASSED to be a Pokémon fan. […] Embarrassing, Pokémon,” one fan replied.
Said another: “Congratulations on handling Pokémon getting worse with each passing day. As fans, lovers of the brand, we feel disrespected.”
It’s safe to say that the Pokémon community is not happy.
For now, Pokémon has stated that HOME 3.0.0 is still on its way. But fans are suspicious since no release date was given after taking back the original one.
Pokémon players have been frustrated with Pokémon for a while now over a variety of issues facing various games. Pokémon GO severely limiting Remote Raid Passes was another issue that many fans brought up on Twitter as well as a lot of ongoing game-breaking bugs and glitches.
