If you are one of those players that are interested in completing the Pokedex and catching every single Pokemon in existence, you need the correct tools. There are over 1,000 Pokemon, including 400 from the Paldea region. Storing and saving all these Pokemon require space, so you might be wondering, will Pokemon Home be available for Scarlet and Violet?

Pokemon Home is a cloud service available as an app for Android, iPadOS, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. It was first released in 2020 as a replacement for the Pokemon Bank and the Pokemon Global Link. Players can use the basic plan, which allows them to deposit up to 30 Pokemon or upgrade to the premium plan with a capacity for 6,000 Pokemon.

The deposited Pokemon go into one box for the basic plan or multiple boxes for premium users. On the premium plan, these boxes can be sorted as the players see fit.

The mobile version of the game allows players to trade Pokemon. There are four types of trades available. In wonder Box or Miracle Box, players put three Pokemon in a box and trade it for random Pokemon. This type of trade can take over an hour. The GTS is simply trading one Pokemon for a requested Pokemon. Room Trades are open to 20 players that can trade as they want. Friend Trades happen between friends who are using Pokemon Home, they can trade up to ten Pokemon per day.

There are other limitations to keep in mind when it comes to trading. Pokemon that cannot be traded in-game, won’t be available for deposit in the game. Any items held by the Pokemon will return to the trainer’s bag after being transferred. Some Pokemon, like Nincada, cannot be transferred between games due to bugs.

What games is Pokemon HOME compatible with?

Pokemon Home will be compatible with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in the spring of 2023, no exact date has been announced yet.

It is also compatible with Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Since these are all mainline titles, the two-way transfer is available. The trading of Pokemon between mainline games is only possible through the Nintendo Switch version. Trades between players are done using the mobile version.

Pokemon GO is compatible with Pokemon Home, but the transfers are one-way. It means that players can send Pokemon from Pokemon GO Home but not the other way around.

How to connect Pokemon Home to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Connecting it to any of the games is simple. Log in using the same Nintendo account you have been using to play, and both apps will sync automatically. No additional actions are required.

Downloading it is completely free, regardless of the version. Using the basic plan is also free. The Pokemon Home premium plan costs $3 for one month, $5 for three months, and $16 for 12 months. Pokemon Home premium is not included in the Nintendo Switch Online membership, these are separate services.
