Overwatch 2 players can expect more communication going into Season 3, according to developers.

Season 3 is going to bring a lot of new changes to the game. This includes addressing issues with competitive mode, revamping the game’s reward system, and introducing new content to fans. Executive producer Jared Neuss has now stated that more gameplay changes are in store and the team will be communicating more as the changes roll in.

On Twitter, Neuss responded to an Overwatch player that accused developers of not only “refusing” to change the 30% ult charge transference that happens when players switch heroes, but “haven’t even talked about it anywhere.” Meanwhile, he noted that tank mains have been suffering the consequences.

In response, Neuss stated that changes are coming in Season 3. Meanwhile, however, developers are looking for ways to better communicate with players about this kind of issue.

“We have plans for regular (weekly or biweekly) comms that will manifest soon. Right now it’s rough because you’re getting one of three things: Silence, as we do work but don’t say anything, tweets from devs (like this!) that are hard to find, and long-form blogs about big topics,” Neuss tweeted.

Neuss said that there needs to be a “quicker middle ground” for communication. Unfortunately, this issue took a back seat to the game’s launch. But “great people” are working on it now.

“In the meantime, we’ll keep jumping on Twitter in-between meetings to fill gaps as best we can,” Neuss said.

The original Overwatch player who sparked the conversation said he understood the team’s “tough” circumstances and appreciates the updates.

For now, it’s unclear what the actual changes will be and how developers plan to share these changes going forward.

When is Overwatch 2 Season 3?

Blizzard has yet to give an official date for Season 3, but fans can piece it together based on a set pattern the game has followed up until now. Based on when the current battle pass is ending, it’s safe to assume that Season 3 will launch on February 7, 2023. There’s a chance that the season will be delayed, however, if developers feel something needs to be tweaked or there’s an incident that gets in the way.

What’s coming in Overwatch 2 Season 3?

The contents of Season 3 are still largely a mystery. From the road map, we can confirm that a map is on the way. The details of this map are not known at this time, unfortunately, but fans are thinking it could be a Rush or Deathmatch map.

Developers have also confirmed that there will be changes to the game’s rewards system. This will address the “lack of choices” in rewards since players have felt they don’t have control over what they unlocked.

Fans can also expect a new battle pass. There are currently no details available about the contents of the battle pass, including challenges, cosmetics, and other rewards that may come with it.
