Overwatch 2 Season 10 is getting more and more exciting for gamers. On top of a new DPS hero and impactful ranked changes, there is also a much-asked-for update when it comes to expanding your roster.
In the most recent developer update, it was announced that all future heroes added to Overwatch 2 will no longer be part of the Battle Pass. Instead, new heroes will be free.
On March 19, Overwatch developers announced that all heroes will be unlocked in Season 10.
“No, that’s not a typo. And no, you’re not dreaming,” developers wrote on X. “Starting in Season 10, Heroes will be unlocked for everyone.”

According to developers, it won’t only be new heroes that will be free instead of in the Battle Pass. All previous heroes that were once only available by grinding past seasons’ battle passes will also be unlocked come Season 10.
This decision was made because players continued to complain about heroes being locked behind a paywall. Gamers had to pay money or grind heavily to get new heroes, meaning not everyone had a chance to play and master them.

On top of new heroes being free, Season 10 will also have ways to earn Overwatch Coins, the in-game currency. Whether you have the free or premium Battle Pass, you’ll be able to earn up to 600 Overwatch Coins by grinding. This is up from 540 max Overwatch Coins from last season.
Season 10 has a lot of exciting new content in store, including new ways to earn Mythic skins, a new DPS hero, and a limited-time game mode. On top of that, it looks like all heroes will be unlocked, making it one of the most exciting seasons yet.
