Loverwatch in Overwatch 2 is a treat for gamers who want to celebrate the day of love without stepping out of their homes. This is Overwatch 2’s first-of-its-kind event in which the heroes break character to date each other. The Overwatch 2 dating sim will be playable from February 14 to 28.
The Overwatch 2 team is firing on all cylinders to keep up the standard it set with the game’s original installment. So far, Blizzard has done a great job by consistently adding new content in heroes, Winter Wonderland event, and then Battle of the Olympus. But more is on the horizon. Blizzard is getting into Valentine’s feel with the new Loverwatch dating sim.

Loverwatch features Mercy and Genji as the main characters and Hanzo as Cupid to assist the interactions. Additionally, it’s a text-based game, meaning players will choose from communication options and messages to woe the heroes. The game mode is 30 minutes long, so you better be smart with your decisions if you want a date on Valentine’s day. Unlock the secret ending, and you’ll be rewarded with a themed POTG Highlight!
Blizzard has clarified that Loverwatch is not connected with Overwatch 2 lore-wise, but players are already hopping on the ship bandwagon. So, expect some lovey-dovey aftereffects in the original Overwatch 2 game from the Loverwatch.
Loverwatch is part of the Season 3 update, which packs plenty more Valentine’s day content. Fans can enjoy a Hanzo 4v4 Limited Time Mode, and Support-themed challenges to win two earnable epic skins, among other rewards. Thanks to Blizzard, players will have plenty to keep them busy on Valentine’s day.
Once Valentine’s day dust settles down, Overwatch 2 plans to roll out the Japanese Anime One-Punch Man skins and cosmetics on March 7.
