A two-time The International champion is now a one-time father.

Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen announced the birth of his first child on social media. The OG mid laner and his girlfriend Mawar Remy welcomed a daughter into the world.

The news came as a surprise as there was no previous word on the couple being pregnant. Topson and Remy have been romantically linked since 2019, but Remy became much more notable in Dota 2 circles when Topson visited her in Malaysia in early 2020 and wound up stranded when travel restrictions were implemented across the globe.

This left Topson stuck in Malaysia for some time, which prevented him from competing alongside OG in tournaments. Topson also largely disappeared from social media during this time, with just a few short videos and photos appearing to show fans that everything was fine. Topson eventually returned to his native Finland and managed to clear the immigration hurdles to allow Remy to join him.

The news of Topson becoming a father was met with congratulations from across the Dota 2 sphere. Broadcast talent such as Kaci Aitchison and Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden, and opponents including Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi and Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, all wished them well on social media.

It’s unclear whether Topson will be taking any time away from Dota 2 in order to spend time with his expanded family. OG is currently slated to compete in OGA Dota PIT Season 3 and Topson is currently listed as a competitor in the event. The team’s run at the event will begin on September 23 with a game against Alliance.
