The latest Valorant skin line dubbed Nunca Olvidados features bright colored floral weapons with a melee reminiscent of ruin dagger.
Since the RGX 11Z pro bundle release, players have been eagerly awaiting the new shop additions. The brand new skin collection is a treat for those who prefer less animated designs over the more extravagant upgradeable skins. Nunca Olvidados will enter the market upon the next patch’s release.
The last skin collection came with a unique katana and weapons that counted kills per round. With its relatively dull colors and over the top animations, the RGX pro bundle was the complete opposite of the upcoming Nunca weapons. While the previous bundle was futuristic and lacked thematic depth, this one is inspired by the “essence of the Día de Los Muertos cultural tradition.”
“The main goal was for the skins to feel beautiful and culturally accurate. Taking inspiration from a number of artists, we made sure to use imagery and colors that accurately represent the holiday,” art lead Sean Marino said.
The new skin collection has bright flowers plastered across the body, with traditional figures painted on the Ares and Vandal.
The weapons are quite similar to Valorant GO! Vol. 2 bundle, which didn’t have upgrade levels. So the Nunca guns may not be upgradeable either. Previous weapons in the Nunca tier didn’t have upgrade levels, so this collection will likely have no sound elements, which means they’re the default skins with brand new packaging. However, the colors and floral print are certainly tempting and make up for the minimal layout.
The melee is eye-catching with its unique shape and translucent body. The knife changes color with its surroundings, similar to skin lines like Winter Wunderland and Tethered Realms. Players who have been trying to cop the ruin dagger should instantly grab Nunca melee. The knife is created on a similar body with a different design.
Apart from the guns, the bundle rolls in with a player card that features a character that looks like Reyna in a traditional painted costume.
Nunca Olvidados comes at the price of 5,100 Valorant points, which is reasonable for a non-upgradeable skin line. Each gun should cost 2,175 VP, whereas the melee would be worth 2,550 VP. The collection falls under Deluxe with melee category, skins that can’t be upgraded but have unique knives.
The skin collection should enter the Valorant store with the release of the next patch that is rumored to bring the new “skin downgrade” feature to the game.
