The latest patch 4.04 has revitalized Valorant’s old man, Brimstone. The pack leader is viable for his smokes, but his once underwhelming Stim Beacon has become the real deal.
The addition of Neon shook up the Valorant meta, but the recent update introduced by Riot truly balanced the game.

brought controllers back into the fray with crucial tweaks to Brimstone and Omen. Astra and Viper’s nerf redirected the spotlight to overlooked smokers who have now become deadly.
In the current meta, players often pick Brimstone for his ever-lasting smokes. However, it’s the Stim Beacon that could be game-changing. A new trick shows Brimstone can do much more than speed up the fire rate.
How does the Brimstone Stim Beacon work in Valorant?
After the
latest update, Brimstone’s Stim Beacon boosts fire rate and increases agent speed. But, that’s not all. Surprisingly, the pack dealer can speed up specific abilities in the game, dealing damage much quicker.
Yoru players recently observed this trick who noticed that Gatecrash travels faster when triggered on Brimstone’s Stim Beacon. The recent update added a new speed feature to Brimstone’s tech, and it seems to work on agent kits as well. The speed difference wasn’t massive, but it sure was there. The tether took five seconds to hit Ascent’s B wall without the boots. When combined with the stim, it reached its destination in four seconds.
This little trick could be game-changing in high-ranked games. According to players, it works similarly on Skye’s tiger and other mobility abilities. Raze’s boombot also sees a minor boost when placed on the Stim Beacon. This is huge as Brimstone’s Stim Beacon has a wide radius. A 15% speed boost is distributed across 6 meters, enough to pace up agent abilities.
Brimstone was never an under-picked agent as compared to other controllers. However, patch 4.04 has undoubtedly made him a primary controller in the roster. With his newly recharged Stim Beacon, the agent’s more overlooked ability will finally get some love from teammates.
Is Brimstone a good Smoker?
After patch 4.04 changes, Brimstone has become a must-have controller. His smokes were always top tier, but the new Stim Beacon changes make him a worthy team member. Brimstone proves to be an excellent smoker on maps like Bind, thanks to his deadly ultimate and long-lasting smokes.
