The Worlds 2022 event pass will debut in patch 12.19, introducing the new and improved Event experience for League of Legends.

Ahead of season 12, Riot Games announced its plans to change the Mythic Content experience, making it more rewarding for players that invested time and effort into the event grind. The final stage of the Mythic Content Overhaul is going live with patch 12.19, to celebrate the start of the Worlds 2022 Main Event.

All event-related content will be contained inside the new Event Page. It will include a shop where players can redeem their tokens. The content offered will remain the same with chromas, borders, blue essence, champions fragments, and more.

When it comes to the pass itself, nothing has changed. Players get a set of missions to complete during the event. They will earn experience that will make them advance through the pass, with progress that can be tracked on the Event Page. All missions will show, even if the player doesn’t buy the event pass. This is the same system used for the TFT battle pass.

The progress is saved so players that decide to buy it at a later date can still receive the rewards.

How to buy LoL Worlds 2022 event pass

Players can buy the LoL Worlds 2022 event pass through the game shop using RP. It will be available ahead of the Main Event scheduled for October 7.

Because it is Worlds and the first time the new system hits the live server, Riot Games promised to boost the number of tokens awarded after every mission. According to the patch notes, players who don’t buy the pass can earn 100 free tokens.

Those that complete the pass can keep earning rewards until the event is finished.

Whether or not it will be a satisfying experience is yet to be seen. In the past, players criticized the event pass system, the unrealistic expectations to complete all the milestones, and the underwhelming rewards.
