Splash art of League of Legends’ next skirmish-oriented champion, Briar, has slipped through the cracks, and it’s bone-chilling scary.
In a dev blog post, Riot confirmed four champions for 2023, of which Nafiri and Milio have already joined the roster. Now, LoL leaker Big Bad Bear has dug out the first look at Briar, the vampire entity.
It’s tough to say if it’s the official art for Briar, but it does check all the boxes for how Riot defined the champion. The leaked splash art looks similar to all previous posters for the LoL champions, but it’s worth waiting for Riot’s confirmation before taking the leak as gospel.
In any case, the leaked splash art is bang on.
Briar looks chilling and deadly, exactly what LoL needs right now. With her white, dilated pupils, silver hair streaked with pink ends, pointy teeth, and even pointier nails, Briar looks like a perfect teenage vampire out of a YA novel. Except, she seems much more psychotic and blood-thirsty, as defined by the leaker.

The definition surely aligns with Riot’s vision for uber-hungry vampire Briar.
“The team really liked the idea of exploring an uncontrollable hunger, and what happens when sometimes that hunger takes over and the creature is allowed to feast on those who deserve it,” Riot said in a blog post.
However, Riot claims that Briar has learned to control her hunger and can tell between a friend and a foe. Still, from the rumored abilities, she sounds like a powerful champion. Briar is rumored to be a skirmish-heavy jungler with stun, fear, life steal, and frenzy mode.
It remains to be seen how much truth there is to these leaks, and players won’t have to wait long. Briar might be unveiled sometime in September, but the exact release date is currently unknown.
