League of Legends Patch 14.17 went on live servers recently, and now the focus shifts to Patch 14.18. The upcoming patch will serve as the foundation for Worlds 2024. Patch 14.18 release date

League of Legends Patch 14.18 is expected to be released on September 11, 2024. According to Riot’s patch schedule, the update will first hit Oceanic servers, with other regions gradually receiving it throughout the day. The key timings are as follows:

  • 3 AM PT (NA)
  • 5 AM GMT (EUW)
  • 3 AM CET (EUNE)
  • 8 AM KST (Korea)

Expect some downtime during the patch rollout. Matchmaking queues will be typically taken offline around 3 hours before the update goes live.

Patch 14.18 changes

Patch 14.18 brings a host of changes, many of which are focused on fine-tuning the game for Worlds 2024. Riot has been trying to change key runes for ranged champions which have been the main meta in high-rank. Furthermore, Some dominant champions have been nerfed down alongside item adjusted. All in all, key adjustments include balancing tweaks to several champions and items, particularly those that have seen heavy use in competitive play. The changes are as follows:

    • E Ability base damage: Increased from 80-200 to 80-240
    • E Ability AP ratio: increased from 60% to 75%
  • Gnarr
    • Mini Gnar base AD: Increased from 57 to 60
  • Ivern
    • E Ability base damage: Decreased from 80-245 to 80-240
    • E Ability slow: Decreased from 45% – 65% to 40% – 60%
  • Jarvan IV
    • P ability health ratio: Increased from 7% current HP to 8% current HP
  • Jax
    • R Ability base damage: Increased from 60 – 160 to 60 – 180
    • R Ability bonus armor: Increased from 15 – 25 to 20 – 23
  • Leona
    • Base armor: Decreased from 47 to 43
  • Nasus
    • E Ability base damage: Decreased from 55 – 215 to 55 – 175
    • E Ability DPS: Decreased for 11 – 43 to 11 – 35
    • E Ability total base damage: Decreased from 110 – 430 to 110 – 350
  • Rell
    • E Ability bonus move speed: Decreased from 12% – 20% to 12% – 16%
  • Rumble
    • Q Ability base damage: Decreased from 80 – 180 to 60 – 180
    • Q Ability AP ration: Decreased from 110% to 100%
    • E Ability base damage: Decreased from 60 – 160 to 50 – 150
  • Viego
    • Base AD: Increased from 57 to 60
    • Q Ability bonus monster damage: Decreased from 20 to 15
  • Xin Zhao
    • Armor: Increased from 4.7 to 5
    • Q Ability base damage: Increased from 16 – 52 to 16 – 68
  • Zeri
    • Passive base damage: Decreased from 90 – 200 to 75 – 160
    • Passive health damage: Decreased 1% – 15 % max HP to 1% – 11% max HP
  • Ziggs
    • Passive tower damage: Decreased from 250% to 200%

Item Changes

  • Bloodthirster
    • Life Steal: Reduced from 18% to 15%
    • Shield changes: 50 to 400 (Levels 1 to 18) to 165 to 315 (Levels 8 to 18)
  • Immortal Shieldbow
    • Shield: Modified from 320 to 720, to 400 to 700
    • Shield: Reduced to 80% for ranged champions
  • Luden’s Companion
    • Cost: Decreased from 2900 to 2850
    • Ability haste: Decreased from 25 to 20
    • AP: Increased from 95 to 100
  • Shadowflame
    • Health threshold: Increase from 35% max HP to 40% max HP
    • Magic pen: Increase from 12 to 15
    • AP: Decreased from 120 to 115
    • DoT (Damage over time): Decreased from 30% to 25%
  • Stormsurge
    • Damage threshold: Decreased from 35% max HP to 25% max HP
    • Move speed: Decreased from 8% to 5%
    • Magic pen: Increased from 10 to 15
    • Ranged damage: Increased from 90% to 100%

In-game Adjustments

  • Fleet Footwork
    • Base healing: Increased healing from 5 to 100, to 10 to 130
    • Healing: Reduced by 60% for ranged
    • Minion healing: Adjusted from 20% (melee) / 10% (ranged) to 15% all around
  • Turrets
    • Pre-5 minute damage: Reduced 75% to 85%
