Two Counter-Strike legends are in it for the long haul with their team.

Fnatic revealed new three-year contracts for Jesper “JW” Wecksell and Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson, who the organization called “esports legends” and “two of the greatest Counter-Strike players of all time.”

JW and KRiMZ have been playing together on Fnatic since 2014, except for a short six-month stint with GODSENT. JW joined Fnatic in mid-2013, while KRiMZ was signed in mid-2014. The two have been playing together since.

In the organization’s official announcement, JW called leaving Fnatic at one time a “hiccup,” and admitted that he doesn’t think he’d ever find a better home where he could “make the same mark and create the same legacy.”

KRiMZ also noted that Fnatic is home for him, describing his teammates as his family.

“I’ve never experienced something close to it,” KRiMZ said. “Everyone is helping each other out, inside and out of the game. Everyone wants to help bring out the best from each other.”

As a Fnatic fan who looked up to veteran players Patrik “cArn” Sattermon and Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg as when he first entered the scene, JW is hoping he can also be “that kind of guy” to young CS:GO players on the rise. This might include JW’s 16-year old teammate Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin.

JW said one of his favorite memories of being on Fnatic was winning DreamHack Winter 2013 shortly after joining the organization. He recalled the “whole scene being impressed” at the shocking outcome of Valve’s first official CS:GO major.

Another moment that has stood out to him was the team’s victory at ESL One: Katowice 2015. Fnatic would go on to take ESL One: Cologne 2015 just five months later.

KRiMZ expressed confidence in the team after signing his new contract, going so far as to say that this was the best Fnatic roster to date. The team will have a lot to accomplish if they hope to live up to that sort of hype.
