Immortals vs. Evil Geniuses: 2022 LCS Spring betting analysis
As teams enter the second half of the 2022 LCS Spring Split, both Immortals and Evil Geniuses will be looking to climb the standings and make a run for the playoffs.
The second round robin of this LCS regular split will start with a rematch between Immortals and EG, a match that Immortals surprisingly won when the two faced off during week 3. Despite EG making it all the way to the LCS Lock In final in January, it has been a shaky start to the split for the team now sitting at a 4-5 record, tied with Immortals.
This will make for an exciting match when the two hit Summoner’s Rift this weekend, where another upset could be in the cards for Immortals. Even though EG is the favorite on paper, the play from the team hasn’t been convincing enough. Though Immortals hasn’t been entirely convincing either.
Junglers to be deciding factor between Immortals and EG
Going into this match, both teams will be coming off of a loss. EG took a tough loss to Counter Logic Gaming while Immortals fell short against Golden Guardians. Bouncing back will likely be the hardest for EG, as it’s starting to show that the team has been hit in its confidence.
To change that, a player like jungler Kacper “Inspired” Sloma will have to step up and have a good game against Immortals. The former star jungler from Rogue had a great start to the season with EG but has started to slow down together with the rest of his team during the last few weeks.
It’s important that a player like Inspired is put on a comfortable pick in this match, so he can go out and have an impact on the map right from the start. If that happens, then EG is playing towards one of its biggest win conditions and could start to get its carries rolling.
Immortals’ Jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir will be doing what he can to make sure that Inspired won’t snowball the game, allowing his experienced laners to play towards the late game where it looks like Immortals can beat out EG in the macro game. Immortals mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage is especially starting to show the stellar play that he has always been known for, which could be a stick in the wheel for EG.
EG will still be the favorite to win this match in most people’s eyes, but based on recent results fans could be looking to start the LCS week off with an upset pick.

Immortals could create an upset against EG in the LCS
In many ways, this is a classic example of an LCS match where the favorite might not be the right betting option. There’s little doubt that EG is the team that should win on paper, but considering the current standings and the shape of the two teams, this match is leaning more towards Immortals. In cases like this, it’s important to look at the odds from the bookmakers and see where there is the most value. That would be with Immortals, considered a big underdog according to the bookmakers. Even though it always comes with some risk to bet on the underdog, it looks like Immortals is the best betting pick for this match.
Immortals can be bet on at high odds at 2.50, so there are gains to be had by believing that Immortals will take another win against EG this split.
The match between Immortals and Evil Geniuses will go down on Saturday, March 5.
