Felix “xQc” Lengyel is no stranger to being banned from Twitch or games. This time around, xQc has been banned from a DayZ server but it may not have been because of his actions this time.
xQc is one of the most iconic streamers on Twitch today. He currently has over 12 million followers, with thousands tuning in every stream to watch him play a variety of games or just yell nonsense at his chat. But being that big of a streamer also comes with complications and it’s those complications that led xQc to be banned.
DayZ is a survival game that has multiple people working together to fight off zombies and other groups. xQc decided to try out the game after playing similar titles like Rust and Escape From Tarkov.
On March 31, xQc began to stream his DayZ gameplay. He was simply finding items in his inventory to equip when he was kicked out of the server. The ban message only read: “Thanks, but no thanks.”
xQc immediately started to flip the f— out. Talking to fellow streamer Dimitri “Greekgodx” Antonatos, xQc questioned why he was booted from DayZ when all he was doing was playing the game as instructed.
“Brother, I was roleplaying. I didn’t do anything,” xQc ranted.
In response, Greekgodx told him he was kicked for being a streamer. xQc argued that he had even hid the server from his chat and was playing on the server politely. Unfortunately, the server mods had already decided that having a big streamer was a liability, maybe due to stream sniping or in fear that xQc would start acting up later.
To retaliate for the punishment he felt was unfair, xQc leaked the server address and its name — DayOne. His followers were on his side, calling the admins “social degenerate nerds” that were on a “weird power trip.” Another noted that DayZ server owners are very strict about who can play, likely fearing the other players that xQc would attract.
DayOne is one of the most popular servers on DayZ. xQc still remains blocked from it on April 1 and most likely won’t be welcomed back in the near future.
“L DayZ. Won’t ever pick up the game based off this,” one fan commented.
