How to stream games on X
Elon Musk streamed on X, but can you? Yes, but it won’t be that easy.
As X continues to struggle due to Musk’s erratic business choices and platform limitations, it’s now looking to reinvent itself as a place where you can now livestream to your followers. Recently, Musk streamed himself playing Diablo 4, and now others want to give it a try.
Here is how to stream on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Do you want to randomly show your X followers what you’re cooking for dinner, or maybe show them how bad you are at Overwatch 2? Here’s how.
- First, you must be a Premium user, which is $8 a month
- Go to Studio
- Make sure you’re logged into your X account
- Click on the Producer tab on the top menu
- Click Source and then Create a Source, which can be found on the top right of the screen
- Call the source whatever you want
- Copy the Stream Key you get once everything is filled out
- Set up OBS and make sure your webcam is working as intended
- Head to Settings, click the Stream tab and paste in the Stream Key
- Go back to X, go to Broadcast, and then Create a Broadcast
- Call it whatever you want
- Select the right source and click Create Broadcast
- Tweet out the livestream to show your followers the broadcast
Let’s be real, it’s not that straightforward. But it’s still an interesting start for X as it attempts to become the next Twitch.
Is there a livestream chat on X?
Yes, there is a way for followers to chat during your stream.
Go to advanced settings and turn on chats so followers can send messages to you while you stream.
While some are skeptical about X’s attempt at livestreaming, others are a bit curious to see where it all goes. Musk fans have even claimed this could spell the end of Twitch and Kick if X does streaming correctly.
