Charizard Tera Raid Battles are now available on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is the only opportunity trainers will get to catch Charizard. It is a level seven raid, and the best Pokemon to use is Azumarill. Here is how to prepare Azumarill to fight Charizard.

Tera Raid Battles require multiple trainers to complete them, it is not a challenge that one trainer can face on their own. If all four members of the party have an Azumarill, success is practically guaranteed.

Azumarill is one of the few Pokemon that are both Water and Fairy type. That’s the perfect combination for facing a Dragon and Fire type like Charizard. To make Azumarill extremely effective against Charizard, trainers must invest time getting it to level 100 and teaching it all the right moves.

How to prepare Azumarill

Each Pokemon can have four moves. Azumarill must have a combination of Water and Fairy moves that increase its stats over time if possible. Assuming all four players in the party are using Azumarill, they can distribute the moves to make the party more effective.

Play Rough is mandatory for all the Azumarill in the raid. Belly Drum is another mandatory move.

To learn Belly Drum, Azumarill must forget one of its other moves. Make sure that Azumarill is holding a Mirror Herb. Host a picnic with Azumarill and a Hariyama that knows Belly Drum. Once the picnic is over, Azumarill will know Belly Drum.

The other necessary moves are Helping Hand, Light Screen, and Rain Dance. These are considered support type of moves because it increases friends’ stats and affects Charizard’s Special Attacks. It is okay if only one Azumarill has these moves.

It is important that Azumarill has a Fairy Tera Type, if it doesn’t, chances of success will decrease.

Lastly, during the Tera Raid Battle, Azumarill must be holding a Shell Bell. This item heals the Pokemon based on the damage it deals.
