This was likely because Riot Games had little ability to stop it. Now Southeast Asian players can look forward to official Riot Games support in 2023, here’s how to link your Garena account to the new server.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to link your Garena account to your brand-new Riot Games account.
Garena-to-Riot Account Linking Guide (EN)
Make sure you’re using a new Riot Games account because the transfer process will mostly overwrite the existing Riot Account’s information with that of the Garena account. Otherwise, everything should transfer. There will be a few days in early January 2023 where purchased champions, skins, and other progress won’t count toward your Riot Games account, so keep an eye out for that.
