Rayquaza Pokemon GO

Rayquaza is one of the most popular Legendary Pokemon, thanks to its incredible design and powerful attacks. Pokemon GO players have been getting terrorized by this dragon and are wondering if they can catch it for themselves.

Rayquaza is a Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Mega Ray was released on August 4th, 2023, as part of the Pokemon GO Fest 2023: Osaka. The Shiny form was also released that day.

How to get Rayquaza in Pokemon GO

Rayquaza was first revealed in Pokemon Emerald, but the dragon has remained one of the most iconic and wanted Pokemon in the series. This includes in Pokemon GO.

Right now, Rayquaza can only be caught when you defeat it in a 5-Star Raid. This is a bit unfortunate since there are currently no Raids with Rayquaza in the game. That doesn’t mean it will never return, however. Rayquaza Raids are usually part of special events in the game, including Weather Week.

Keep an eye out for when Rayquaza Raids are added to Pokemon GO. Rayquaza cannot be caught in the wild or hatched from Eggs.

Can I get Rayquaza from a trade?

You can technically receive Rayquaza from another trainer, but this will require a massive amount of Stardust. Your friend will also have to be willing to give up a Ray.

Can Rayquaza be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Rayquaza can be Shiny in Pokemon GO. The Shiny version has black scales and yellow details instead of the usual green.

Rayquaza is a Dragon and Flying-type Pokemon. This means that Rayquaza is most vulnerable to Ice and Rock Pokemon as well as Fairy attacks. Your general best bet is to bring Pokemon with Ice attacks with you to deal the most damage possible since you’ll deal an additional 20% damage.

Here’s a full guide on how to be best prepared for a fight against this Legendary Pokemon.
