The Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Global has announced Rayquaza as the featured Pokemon in the five-star raids, and the Legendary Pokemon is not the only one making a special appearance during the event.

Rayquaza is one of the Legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn region and the game mascot of Pokemon Emerald. Rayquaza joined Pokemon Go in 2018 during the Hoenn Celebration Event in February, aand the shiny version made its debut in 2019. Since its addition to the game, Rayquaza has been part of four different events. Rayquaza is one of the few Pokemon with a Mega Evolution, but it is yet to be released in Pokemon Go.

The Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Global is taking place on Saturday, February 25, and Sunday, February 26 from 10 am to 6 pm local time. It is time to get your walking shoes ready!

How to beat Rayquaza five-star raid

Rayquaza will be the five-star raid boss during the Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Global, this is the highest level possible for any raid boss in the game. Players will need at least three more trainers over level 40 to take on Rayquaza.

Rayquaza is a dual Dragon and Flying type. These types share a weakness against Steel type Pokemon. A perfect Pokemon to face Rayquaza is Magearna, which is dual Steel and Fairy type. Another option with the same types is Mawile. If those are not available, Melmetal, Klinklang, and Aggron should get the job done.

Remember, the more players join the raid, the easier it is to defeat Rayquaza. You can take part in as many five-star raids as you can during the day, and there is a chance of catching a shiny Rayquaza.

Ruby vs. Sapphire Challenge at Pokemon Go Tour

The event will feature the Ruby vs. Sapphire challenge. Players must pick a team, and based on it, they will encounter certain Pokemon. Players will complete special Field Research on behalf of their teams, the team that completes the most research will increase their chances of Primal Raids. The Primal Raids will feature Primal Kyogre for team Sapphire and Primal Groudon for team Ruby.
