How to get Ed Sheeran code, sunglasses Squirtle in Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO is in the middle of a large collaboration with British musical artist Ed Sheeran.

Niantic is taking a page out of Fortnite’s playbook and is working with musicians to create attention-grabbing musical events in Pokémon GO. But while Pokémon GO doesn’t really lend itself to grandiose events in the way that Fortnite does, the AR collect-a-thon is still putting together something special for those who aren’t scooping up mythicals in BDSP.

The Ed Sheeran Pokémon GO event will include a digital concert, some limited edition cosmetics, and the return of a classic event Pokémon in sunglasses Squirtle. Here’s everything there is to know about the collab.

What is the code for the Ed Sheeran sweatshirt in Pokémon GO?

The code for the limited-edition Ed Sheeran sweatshirt in Pokémon GO is VVM87WGMMUZHTB8X.

One of the things Pokémon GO has on offer to players is some exclusive merch for their in-game avatar. By using the above code, players can receive a special edition sweatshirt for their trainer. The sweatshirt is quite nice, with a cream hoodie design emblazoned with the symbol for Ed Sheeran’s new album “=”.

How to get Ed Sheeran sweatshirt in Pokémon GO for free

  1. Hit the Poké Ball icon on the main screen
  2. Click on Shop
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the “Promos” section
  4. Enter VVM87WGMMUZHTB8X in the promo code menu
  5. Obtain the in-game merch

The Ed Sheeran sweatshirt in Pokémon GO can be obtained exclusively via promo code in the Pokémon GO shop. All players need to do to get it is scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the code.

After entering the code and obtaining the items, players can equip the new gear by hitting their player icon in the bottom left corner of the main screen, clicking on style, and selecting “Tops.” The new sweatshirt should be at or near the front of the line.

How to get sunglasses Squirtle in Pokémon GO

Sunglasses Squirtle has been catchable in the wild for a number of events, the latest being the Ed Sheeran Pokémon GO collaboration.

Players can find the sunglasses-wearing Squirtle out in the world and can catch it normally. There’s no real special trick to catching the Pokémon and players don’t have to worry about raids or rolling the dice with eggs. Players can also get a special Squirtle appearance as a bonus for taking in-game snapshots.

Sunglasses Squirtle has actually become more unique over time. Early event Pokémon could be evolved while maintaining the special accessories that set them apart from regular Pokémon of the same species. In this case, sunglasses Squirtle can be evolved up into a Blastoise with the sunglasses sticking around.

It’s unclear if sunglasses Squirtle will return, so Pokémon GO players ought to make the time to catch the Pokémon and gather up enough candies to evolve it.

When does the Ed Sheeran Pokémon GO event end?

The Ed Sheeran and Pokémon GO collaboration ends on November 30 at 1:00 p.m. PT.

Players need to make sure to catch themselves a sunglasses Squirtle and collect their hoodie before then. There are also an increased number of water-type starters in the wild, so this is also a great chance to grind towards a Greninja, Samurott, Swampert, or Croconaw.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...
