A brand new Rick and Morty tie-in cosmetic is available in Fortnite, so here’s how to earn the Pickle Rick back bling by playing Zero Build Horde Rush.
The new back bling was added as a way to incentivize players to try out Fortnite’s new PvE horde mode Zero Build Horde Rush. If players complete a series of Zero Build Horde Rush-exclusive quests, they can claim a Pickle Rick back bling for themselves until November 15, 2022.
Zero Build Horde Rush is a new spin on the Horde Rush game mode in which players are dropped into a pre-closed circle somewhere on the map and make their way from location to location fighting Cube Monsters of varying types. The mode features normal weapons and movement, but there’s no way to exploit Fortnite’s building system. Players drop into a location, fight waves of Cube Monsters, and destroy the totems that spawn them.

Once they’re done, players have time to loot before the circle shrinks, ushering them to the next location. You’ll have to fight for your life along the way as Cube Monsters assault you from all sides, but you won’t have to worry about destroying spawn totems while in transit to your next location. You’ll then repeat the process of fighting waves and totems at the second location before you transition to a third to fight an enormous boss monster and win the mode.
Playing this mode won’t unlock the Pickle Rick back bling on its own. You’ll have to complete a series of specific quests, but most of them are easy to complete on accident.
The Zero Build Horde Rush quests you need to do to unlock the Pickle Rick back bling are as follows.
With those complete, you’ll get the Rick and Morty tie-in backpack for free. If you want tips on how to survive Zero Build Horde Rush, check out our guide on the game mode.
