How to complete Finding Your Voice in Pokemon GO

Meloetta can now be obtained by all Pokemon GO players thanks to the Finding Your Voice special research questline.

The new questline was added to the game alongside Fashion Week, making September one of the most action-packed months in Pokemon GO history. The research gives players access to the musical mythical Pokemon, which boasts unique typing and decent strength. Not only that but players can also get a bunch of candies, allowing them to power up Meloetta for competition in different battle leagues.

Unfortunately, catching Meloetta is a bit of a grind since Finding Your Voice has several missions that take a long while to complete. Here’s how to get Meloetta in Pokemon GO. Thankfully, it has some great rewards.

Finding Your Voice special research missions

The Finding Your Voice special research has some time-consuming challenges in three of the first four steps, including a stiff test right at the start in catching 30 normal-type Pokemon. Thankfully, three of the six steps are total cakewalks and the conclusion is getting a potentially powerful mythical Pokemon.

Players that obtained Meloetta by purchasing the special ticket for Pokemon GO Fest 2021 will receive 20 more Meloetta Candy instead of the Meloetta encounter.

Here are all the steps to catching Meloetta:

Finding Your Voice Step One:

Reward: Eevee encounter, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

Finding Your Voice Step Two:

Reward: Slugma encounter, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

Finding Your Voice Step Three:

Reward: Hariyama encounter, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust

Finding Your Voice Step Four:

Rewards: Meloetta encounter, 2,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust

Finding Your Voice Step Five:

Rewards: Five Meloetta Stickers, 2,500 XP, 2,500 Stardust

Finding Your Voice Step Six:

Reward: One Lure Module, 20 Meloetta Candy, Three Rare Candy

Is Meloetta good in Pokemon GO?

Meloetta is one of the strongest Pokemon in Pokemon GO but has quite a bit of competition in its typing from more established legendaries and mythicals.

Its psychic-normal typing removes the weakness to ghost attacks but costs its resistance to fighting types which is ultimately a good trade. Unfortunately, Meloetta has underwhelming fast move options with just Quick Attack and Confusion but has four charge moves to choose from which results in some strong type coverage.

With a CP ceiling of 4,490 at level 50, it’s one of the strongest Pokemon in the game, but there’s no shortage of strong psychic Pokemon out there. Mewtwo remains the most powerful Pokemon in Pokemon GO and the likes of Lugia and Latios are still comparable options despite having slightly lower CP. Metagross also compares favorably to all them, despite not being legendary.

Meloetta is a very strong Pokemon but isn’t so powerful that players ought to regret having buffed up other Pokemon instead. Still, if anyone is sitting on a boatload of Rare Candies and want a Pokemon for raids, Meloetta’s a great choice.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...
