Dragon’s Dogma 2 is full of menacing monsters that will do everything in their power to disrupt your exploration and side quest completions. Here’s how to easily defeat Minotaurs in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Minotaurs are probably some of the toughest bosses you’ll encounter earlier in the game. Large and strong, it can be quite imposing when you run into one. They are also quite agile. This time around, Minotaurs can even shake you off if you try to mount one.

Wondering how to take down a Minotaur? Here’s the trick.

Minotaurs weakness in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Strong and fast, the Minotaur can seem a bit daunting at first. Your best bet is to focus on their legs and take advantage of their elemental weakness.

Minotaurs love to charge at you as their main attack, so you’ll definitely want to attack their legs to eventually cause the monster to fall.

If you are a melee-focused class, the trick is to keep damaging its legs in this way. Wait until the Minotaur charges at you, dodge it the best you can, and watch it ram into a nearby object or wall. At this point, you can start attacking its legs, and it will eventually Stagger.

If you are a Mage or Sorcerer, you will want to use fire-related spells and attacks. The Minotaur is very weak to fire.

Minotaur strategies in Dragon’s Dogma 2

If you find yourself face-to-face with a charging Minotaur in Dragon’s Dogma 2, there are some strategies to keep in mind. This will keep you one step ahead.

Make sure you have a full party before heading into battle. Having someone in your party who has long-distance attacks is smart if your own character doesn’t.

Start by setting the Minotaur on fire. This monster has a lot of health, so using its weaknesses against it is the best way to start depleting its health. An Archer can use Tarring Arrows or a Mage can use Flagration.

You will want to stay away from the Minotaur whenever possible. Avoid its charges, and don’t get in too close. Keep focusing on its legs to deal more damage and stop it from running at you. Always keep moving so the Minotaur can’t get a good aim at you when it charges.

Minotaur rewards and drops

The Minotaur will drop items when you defeat it. This includes:

  • Hunter’s Bow
  • Plumed Cap
  • Minotaur Horns

Minotaur Horns are a useful material that can enhance weapons. If you encounter and defeat the Goreminotaur, you can get even more desirable Blackened Horns.
