Fortnite isn’t nearly as popular as it used to be, but it’s still easy to find a full battle bus.

Fortnite has gone from one of the most popular video games in the world to a fairly standard battle royale title. With 100 players needed to start a proper game, it’s important for any battle royale to have a thriving player base. While the game is officially past its glory days, Fortnite fans still have an easy time finding matches. Almost four years after its release, how many people are still playing Fortnite in 2021?

On a Monday morning, Player Counter reported that Fortnite had 2,662,391 players online. That number includes players across PC and consoles. It also represents the lowest number of players throughout a given week in 2021. In the afternoons, player counts can spike well over five million. That’s much higher than other popular battle royales like Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone.

Player Counter is one of the best sites for checking active players across a variety of PC titles. According to its information, there are still millions of regular Fortnite players. Keep in mind that its information is not official. Only Epic Games truly knows how many people play Fortnite in 2021.

Players from the United States represent the largest chunk of the Fortnite player base by nation. Player Counter estimates that 27.52% of Fortnite players live in the United States. The second most-represented country in Fortnite is Brazil with approximately 8.08%. Russia, the United Kingdom, and Germany come next at around 5% each.

Epic Games continues to update Fortnite with all sorts of interesting gameplay changes and crossovers. The next Fortnite collaboration in 2021 could be with League of Legends. Fortnite x LoL could premier at the end of Worlds as a tie-in for the Arcane animated series.

As long as Epic Games continues to update it, Fortnite will continue to be one of the most popular video games in the world.
