How coins work in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

When you finish a race in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the amount of coins you get during that race will be automatically added to your total amount. Every time you reach a certain amount of coins, you will unlock a new kart or kart part. You won’t get to pick the things you unlock and will instead be notified of the new things you unlock after the race is complete.

A vehicle part will be randomly unlocked every 30 coins you get. Once you reach 450 coins total, you will then start unlocking a vehicle or part at every 50 coins.
