Newest Fortnite update adds Grapple Glove, DMR, and more

Fortnite chapter 3 season 4 hasn’t precisely been the most thrilling, but the latest V22.10 update will shake things up.

Each Fortnite season brings exciting quests, challenges, and in-game items for players to sink their teeth into. However, the latest season 4 content was nothing to write home about, and Epic Games seems to be making amends in the newest patch. The developer has rolled out the season’s most significant update so far in V22.10. The latest patch goes live on Tuesday, October 4, bringing some old items back into the arena. 

The first major update of Fortnite chapter 3 brings a new DMR and new things to unlock with your keys. It will also mark the return of the iconic Grapple Glove. 

What’s new in the Fortnite V22.10 update? 

Fortnite V22.10 update packs many attractive items, including the iconic Grapple Glove.

Epic Games is upgrading the Fortnite arsenal with Cobra DMR that catches enemies at long ranges with its rapid-fire rate. This also means that the normal DMR goes back into the vault. Players can find the Cobra DMRs from the ground, chests, supply drops, fishing, loot sharks, and reality sapling fruit. 

Holo-Chests are becoming more accessible in the V22.10 update. Players can now open the holographic cases with their keys, just like the low-security and high-security vaults. The best part is that players can get a holographic preview of the case content before opening it. One key would be enough to unlock the base case, whereas players may unlock exotic Holo-Chests using two keys. 

Grapple Glove returns in Fortnite 

Grapple Glove from season 3 will return in the V22.10 update, giving Spider-Man fans a reason to log back into their game. The simple gloves are reminiscent of the iconic Spider-Man’s web shooter gloves, and while they may not have similar swinging animations, they’re still highly sought after. 

Unlike in season 3, Grapple Gloves aren’t stored in Grapple Glove Toolboxes. This time, chests, supply drops, and legendary and mythic reality sapling fruit can be picked up from the ground. Grapple Gloves will be available until the v22.20 update.

Besides all that, the developer has made some quality changes to the squad comm wheel. Characters you’ve hired on the Island will follow your every command. Those still for some bling can progress past Level 100 of their battle pass to unlock the shiny Super Level skins. The Ranger Shotgun has also been added to competitive playlists in V22.10.
