QTCinderella explained why she’s not adding Female Streamer of the Year or LGBTQ+ subcategories to the Streamer Awards in 2024.

QTCinderella is not only a successful streamer, she is also the creator behind the Streamer Awards, a streamer-focused award show. On March 11, QTCinderella, alongside Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, hosted the second edition of the awards.

In the following days, QTCinderella recapped the event and shared plans for future editions, including all the categories she refuses to add.

QTCinderella won’t add Female Streamer of the Year

The streamer explained her reasoning for not adding certain categories to the awards, starting with Female Streamer of the Year and other LGBTQ+ subcategories. According to QTCinderella, creating subcategories will just add unnecessary complications to the awards.

Adding Female Streamer of the Year would mean that she must add Non-Binary Streamer of the Year. Same for the LGBTQ+ categories. The Streamer Awards currently have 28 categories, and at least 25 of them are popular vote. Fans postulate their favorite creators, and based on the votes received, a final four are chosen.

This gives all creators a fair chance, regardless of gender and sexual orientation. All they need are strong communities that want to see them at the ceremony.

QTCinderella also clarified that Best Mods would never be a category in the Streamer Awards simply because there are too many Mods in the platform, and it would be a logistical nightmare.

Other categories that won’t be part of the Streamer Awards are categories covered in other award shows. QTCinderella specified that anything that is part of the Esports Awards or the Steamy Awards wouldn’t be part of her show to avoid overlap. The creator expects these ceremonies to extend the same courtesy to her and not add any of her categories to their respective awards.

On the subject of categories that will be added, QTCinderella mentioned at least two. The first is Best Up and Coming Streamer, a category that recognizes creators with less than 1,000 concurrent viewers. The second category is Best Live Stream Content Series, which targets weekly live series, like Critical Role.
