New Overwatch 2 heroes

Overwatch 2 hero leaks are becoming more frequent as the game draws closer to release and fans are getting details on all the new heroes coming in the game’s first season.

Highly anticipated team-based shooter Overwatch 2 is set to release in October. The popularity of the original game will likely translate into a smashing release for Overwatch 2, thanks to a loyal fanbase and a tidal wave of likely returns. The early leaks already have players on their toes as more continue to build up the hype.

So far, two new characters have been revealed and confirmed to be playable at launch for Overwatch 2. Playable versions have been available to pick in Overwatch 2 betas. New leaks may have also provided an outline for third one.

The new heroes in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is positioned to launch with three new heroes. One was revealed as part of the initial announcement for the game, and another has since been officially revealed and made available for beta players. Blizzard has suggested that another new one is inbound, though details are scant to this point, officially speaking. Here’s what’s known about these new characters.

Sojourn

Sojourn

Sojourn was the first confirmed new addition to the Overwatch 2 roster. The developer unveiled the DPS character in 2019 as a high-skill hero who requires sharp aim to shine truly. Railgun is at the core of her kit, making her your best bet to break into the enemy’s territory and create space. Paired with her mobility tricks, Sojourn becomes a menace at medium and long range. While she reads like an exciting hero to play, Sojourn has a steep learning curve and won’t be effective without good aim.

Junker Queen

Junker Queen reveal

After adding another DPS, the developer introduced Junker Queen as part of the official release date revealed. She has style, wrath, and her Jagged Blade that wounds enemies to death.

On June 20, players got to see her in action, test out her kit, and see what she adds to the tank roster. She brings her own melee that makes her a threat in Overwatch, but that’s not all that sets her apart. Junker Queen is also self-sufficient with a passive ability that heals her over time, making her one of the most sustainable characters on the roster.

Kiriko

Kiriko

Kiriko hasn’t yet been confirmed as a hero, but leaks suggest that they will be the next support character. The fox-like creature has been teased multiple times in official Overwatch 2 teasers, with prominent leaker Naeri revealing some extra details on her. It’s suggested as part of the leak that Kiriko as an upcoming hero locked behind the battle pass, but this isn’t confirmed yet.

There’s not much to glean about Kiriko’s kit from the leaks, except that Kiriko is a support. This makes one new character for each role. Since leaks consequently featured a fox, it won’t be a surprise if Kiriko amplifies her teammates’ speed. Healing is also a good possibility, but these are all early speculations for now.

The three Overwatch 2-exclusive characters will become available at launch on October 4. The Overwatch 2 heroes will be available on the free track of the battle pass, according to the developer.
