The global inflation is so profound that it’s even making waves in Fortnite’s virtual world. Epic has confirmed that prices of V-Bucks will go up in Fortnite.

Epic Games is here to shatter your dreams of virtual wealth in Fortnite’s Zero Reality, amidst the back-breaking real-world inflation. Being rich in Fortnite is now a far-fetched dream, set aside for those with stacked credit cards because V-Bucks are skyrocketing in price from October 2023.

In a concise blog post, Epic has clarified that economic factors such as inflation and currency fluctuations have prompted the developer to increase V-Bucks price. The countries where prices will see a hike include the Czech Republic, Denmark, Eurozone countries, Hungary, Japan, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States.

The hike in V-Bucks prices follows similar pricing alignments recently completed in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Mexico, according to Epic Games. Earlier, the 5,000 V-Bucks bundle went from CAD 42.79 to CAD 47.99, and the increase will be now implemented across 11 more countries.

The price change will apply across all V-Bucks packs and gifted battle passes, whereas the Extinction Code Pack will go from the previous $3.99 to $4.49. These changes will be reflected in the game in almost a month, so players still have plenty of time to stack up their accounts with skins while they are cheap. However, prices for The Final Reckoning Pack, Skull Squad Pack, Graveyard Drift Quest Pack, Saint Academy Quest Pack, and Transformers Pack will be adjusted when they are available again in a future rotation.

The hike is limited to in-game currency and items, which means the Fortnite Crew subscription will charge the same as before.
