Say goodbye to rickety pirate ships and say hello to high flying fighter planes in Fortnite’s most recent update.

Epic has released the 8.40 patch notes for Fortnite, introducing two new limited time modes, new weapon updates, and the ability to pet all the pets.

Air Royale is a duos-only mode that allows players to climb aboard a plane and take to the skies. Pairs fight to be the last couple airborne. Each plane has three lives, allowing players to respawn until they lose their plane’s last life. Touching ground will instantly eliminate players, and parking a plane on the ground for more than a few seconds will cause it to explode. Still, pilots don’t want to fly too high late in the match, since the storm has a ceiling that gradually lowers over time.

Participants can add to their existing number of plane lives by hijacking another team’s plane. This will also cost the targeted team a life.

And there’s loot, of course. Loot chests of five different rarities will fall from the sky, allowing players to upgrade the guns they are carrying as well as boosting their plane’s weapons for a short time.

Food Fight – Deep Fried is the second limited time mode introduced in 8.40.Two teams that start on either side of the map with a huge barrier down the middle. As lava steadily rises up from below, teams must build a fort to protect their restaurant mascot. When the barrier lowers, the aim of the game becomes destroying the enemy’s mascot.

At the start of the match, special red supply drops will spawn. These hold weapons, ammo, consumables, traps, and a few hundred metal building materials. One hundred percent extra resources will be gained from farming, and free building materials are granted to each player every second.

When it comes to Fortnite’s competitive side, Fortnite World Cup Online Open Week 2 will take place on April 20 and 21. There is a $1 million prize pool on the line. On April 21, the top 1,500 teams from Round One will compete. The top performers in each server region will qualify to the Fornite World Cup Finals in New York City.

Does Fortnite BR have global chat? Here’s how to turn it on Fariha Bhatti Fortnite has added a global chat option, and players can finally hear each other mid-match, for better or worse. The same can not be said about global chat. Most gamers agree such a ...
