Fnatic Abed hits 10K MMR, setting record in new Dota 2 rankings

The Fnatic prodigy has again hit the 10,000 matchmaking rating.

In a Twitter post, Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop announced that he reached 10,000 MMR in the Dota 2 current matchmaking system. Valve released the new MMR calibration with seasonal rankings that featured medals in late 2017.

It will be remembered that Abed was the first Dota 2 player who reached a five-figure MMR in early 2017. He broke the record of Amer “Miracle-“ Al-Barkawi who gained massive popularity by earning the first 9,000 MMR.

However, all players were forced to recalibrate their matchmaking ratings to comply with Valve’s new medal system. Top players from the leaderboard lost a chunk of their matchmaking ratings after the recalibration. This recalibration repeats every six months.

Abed is consistently ranked Immortal Top 1 in the Southeast Asian region. Now, he has reached a more significant milestone in Valve’s new seasonal rankings. After three seasons he is the first player to achieve 10,000 MMR.

The Filipino player currently plays as the position 2 carry for Fnatic. As a middle lane player, his unique playstyle and his remarkable mechanical skill have made him a valuable player for Fnatic.

Abed started playing DotA at a very young age. This helped him develop his exceptional micro skills. He is primarily celebrated for his outstanding Meepo plays, though he is also known for using Invoker and Ember Spirit.  

Currently, Fnatic is considered to be the top team in SEA. With the inconsistency of the region’s other powerhouse teams, Fnatic has dominated the region through several tournaments.

Fnatic ranks sixth in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings with one major tournament left. The team is guaranteed an invite in the most hotly anticipated tournament of the year, The International 2019.
