T1 midlaner Lee “Faker” Sang- hyeok broke the record for the most kills at Worlds 2022.

Faker and T1 are celebrating more than their first place in Group A of Worlds 2022. At this year’s event, Faker became the first League of Legends player to compete in 100 Worlds games. Faker ends the group stage with 103 matches played at Worlds and 75 victories.

The mid laner is having an outstanding performance at the event. Ahead of Worlds 2022, analysts believed that T1 was not in condition to be a true contender for the title. In the LCK, the team had a performance that was good, but nowhere close to the team that qualified to the Mid-Season Invitational with a domestic record of 18-0. In the Summer finals, T1 lost to Gen.G with a humiliating 0-3 scoreline.

So far at Worlds, Faker and T1 are proving everyone wrong by fulfilling its tradition of making it to playoffs as the number one team in the group.

Fakers sets new kills at Worlds record at 351 and counting

Faker currently has 351 kills at Worlds, becoming the player with the most kills at any edition of the event. Faker surpassed former RNG star ADC Jian “Uzi” Zi-hao who held the record with 350 before his retirement.

On top of that record, Faker is currently the player with the most solo kills at Worlds with 30. Faker is one of two players to have won Worlds three times, the other is current T1 coach Bae “Bengi” Sung-woong. The duo is on its way to winning the event for the fourth time.

T1 is looking as the strongest LCK representative at Worlds, a surprising turn of events considering that Gen.G was one of the favorites to win the event. Having finished the group stage, T1 waits for its next opponent.

Worlds 2022 Group Stage concludes on October 16.
