Counter-Strike 2 has entered an extremely exclusive limited beta test, and star Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar da Silva Santos, Jr. isn’t happy about it.
Valve has laid out its criteria for how to join the CS2 limited beta test, and, at first glance, it seems fairly easy to get in. All players have to do is have an account in good standing and some recent hours on Valve servers. However, ticking all those boxes doesn’t necessarily guarantee access.
In the case of pro players, sometimes from other games, Valve is willing to put them on the fast track to Counter-Strike 2. But for top stars in traditional sports, there appear to be no exceptions.
In a recent social media post, the PSG star begged Valve for access to the Coutner-Strike 2 beta. Despite his international fame and established CSGO hobby, the Brazilian icon remains on the normal client. Valve has yet to respond to his request.
Accessing the CS2 beta has turned out to be much more difficult than fans were hoping for. The biggest issue is that the majority of CSGO grinders use third-party matchmaking services like FACEIT to find games, eliminating hours on Valve servers. Those players are completely ineligible for the CS2 beta.
However, even dedicated Valve matchmakers have reported no invite since the launch on March 22, 2023. Valve is clearly giving certain players special access,Â
Neymar is best known for his insanely valuable skin collection in CSGO, and his hoard will probably only grow in Counter-Strike 2.
Standouts from his giant collection include a factory new M4A4 | Howl with gold FURIA stickers and a factory new AWP | Gungnir. For his AK-47, he swaps between a Gold Arabesque and a Fire Serpent. Neymar isn’t lacking in the gloves department either, sporting factory new Specialist Gloves | Crimson Web and Driver Gloves | Imperial Plaid for T and CT, respectively. He owns several knives, but the crown jewel of his melee options is a factory new Gamma Doppler Karambit with the coveted emerald finish.Â
The value of Neymar’s CSGO skins is estimated to be around $30,000, and it’s likely to grow when Counter-Strike 2 launches this summer.
