Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm is launching a new AAA studio, known as Midnight Society.

The studio will have a focus on “community” when it comes to game development, involving players and influencers throughout the stages of each games’ development. Dr Disrespect is pairing up with former developers from Call of Duty and Halo to support the company’s mission.

The new company has industry veterans like Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo, and is still looking for more people to join the team. On Midnight Society’s new Twitter account, the studio said they it is building a PvP multiplayer game “from the ground up” but need more help.

“Do it. Apply. Don’t live with this regret. Why are you doubting yourself? Just go for it,” the tweet reads.

Dr Disrespect finally launches game studio

Fans of the Two-Time are not surprised to see the announcement of Midnight Society. The former developer and Call of Duty map creator has been discussing wanting to start a gaming studio for a while now. In August, Dr Disrespect shared a job listing on Twitter for a then-unnamed game studio, explaining that there would be a partnership with “mega influencers.”

It appears that Midnight Society has changed its direction since then, at least by a little. Instead of a focus on influencers, Midnight Society aims to give power back to the gaming community.

“Players are the lifeblood of our games, and so often games get designed in a bubble, with few touchpoints for the players to help shape shape the final product before it’s too late. Our approach is completely open and focused on building experiences that evolve with our players,” Dr Disrespect explained.

The studio wants to make games that “defy” the usual “one-and-done” publishing model of other popular studios, rewarding fans and influencers who “make them a success.” The exact details behind how this might happen remain vague.

Is Dr Disrespect suing Twitch?

Dr Disrespect recently revealed that he knows the reason he was permanently banned from Twitch and was vocal in his disagreement over the platform’s reasoning.

“I’ve known for months now the reason why. And I’ll just say this right now, champs. There’s a reason why we’re suing the f— out of them. I don’t know how else to put it,” Dr Disrespect said at the time.

After being banned from Twitch, Dr Disrespect claimed that he was struggling to find partnerships and sponsors due to the permanent ban. The loss of income was just one reason Dr Disrespect wanted to sue Twitch, explaining that looking up “Dr Disrespect” on Google leads to stories and rumors about the ban.
