The dates for the Bali Major have finally been confirmed by Valve, and it will feature a brand-new tournament organizer.

The Dota Pro Circuit has been reinvigorated by the long-awaited release of patch 7.33. The slew of new mechanics and hero buffs has completely changed the game, and DreamLeague Season 19 was just a taste of how the pro meta will evolve.

To keep the hype train rolling, Valve has finally revealed plans for the final DPC major of 2023 after the upcoming Berlin Major. Here’s everything you need to know about the Dota 2 Bali Major happening later this year.

Bali Major dates, prize pool announced

The Bali Major will take place from June 29, 2023 to July 9, meaning 11 straight days of international Dota 2 action.

Like other DPC majors before it, it will feature a $500,000 prize pool as well as 600 DPC points, making it the single most important event for teams hoping to attend The International 2023. The Bali Major will feature the standard 18 teams with different numbers of representatives for each of the six competitive regions.

However, fans will get at least one surprise with the reveal of a brand-new organizer. Malaysian-based tournament organizer IO Esports will coordinate the event. The company has plenty of experience in esports, hosting IO Esports has also collaborated with ONE Esports for Dota 2 events, giving it experience in the space. Considering the myriad problems at the Lima Major, fans may be hesitant to embrace another first-time major host.

Tickets are not on sale for the event, but IO Esports should announce details closer to the start date. Expect info to come out sometime in May after the end of the Berlin Major.

Dota 2 Bali Major will be second international event on 7.33

While the Bali Major will be a massive event for Dota 2, the Berlin Major has sniped its chance to be the international debut of patch 7.33.The surprise drop of 7.33 was shocking for several reasons, but the biggest one was its release during the playoffs of a $1.25 million event.

DreamLeague Season 19 chose to play out on the new patch, which resulted in extremely entertaining — if not very optimal — play. The Berlin Major will mark the update’s debut for the Dota Pro Circuit, meaning that the Bali Major will only come after another season of regular play.

Expect Valve to drop a letter patch sometime before the event to help spice things up.
